I am a London-based portrait artist working primarily in oils. Largely self-taught, I first began painting seriously as an Art Scholar at school, developing a traditional approach to realism. 

Drawn to portraits that tell a story, I often paint from photographs that capture a moment or a memory – a fascination that began with old family photo albums. Typically I work in oils on canvas, beginning each piece with a careful underpainting, before slowly layering in colour to create warmth and depth.
